What size is the stock muffler? Looking to do a muffler swap

I'm looking to swap out the stock muffler with an aftermarket muffler to get a better sound. Not interested in the full cat backs or axle backs ...just looking to cut out the stock muffler and get the new one welded in.

How long is the oem muffler? Inlet and outlets are both 2.5" right?

Right now I'm leaning toward the borla s-type muffler...from what I've heard from audio and video clips, the s-types give a nice deep rumble but without that annoying drone

Cool

The stock muffler is not a straight flow-through design like the Borla S. Gasses enter through the side of the muffler and exit out both ends.

This is the same configuration as the stock exhaust.

This is the Borla S

Oh ok....thanks for the info. On Borlas website they list an s-type catback exhaust system for the G and the muffler looks like the first one you posted above...I'm wondering if I'd be able to buy that muffler separately or if its a package deal

Your best bet is to get the Tanabe Medallion Axle back, no welding required, just 4 nuts.
