I like my Magnaflow exhaust; 2.5", X-pipe, dual exit, good quality, fit and warranty,. BUT....this damn drone from 1500 - 2000 is annoying. I,m reading up on tailpipe branch resonators, exhaust temperatures, resonance frequencies and I figure there is a fix out there somewhere. Anybody else have this drone in an aftermarket exhaust on a G? City driving is the worst because you're in and out of the DRONE ZONE all the time in an AT.
The best thing I have found about resonators is that my G would require a 28" branch resonator to cancel out these 1/4 wavelength frequencies at the tailpipe. At this point, I would have to engineer the two resonators (one at each tailpipe) to remedy this drone. Also ,there doesn't seem like a lot of room to install two 28" resonators back there.
Does anybody out there have or know about a fix for this annoying drone?

 

Thats a lot of crap to fix an exhaust. Why don't you sell it and start over with a diiferent set up. Magnaflow is not the best for G's.

 

Yeah, I'm thinking the same ....damn.... Are we talkin Stillen, Borla, Invidia, MPX, ....?

Opinions out there....appreciated.

 

I have magnaflow on mine. Cant wait to get rid of it. No drone at all...but raspy as all hell. Almost sounds embarrassing at times.
