Hows it goin guys, just a quick question, I just had a Stillen Gen 3 CAI installed when i start the car now there is weird popping noise when the car cranks, my guess is that the CAI i just sucking in air When the car is cranking, any of you guys experience the same noise and is it normal, thanks for the input.

 

You may have something loose and knocking. A metallic sound, or different?

 

Its a weird kinda popping (knocking) noise cant really explain it i cant hear it from the outside, its not matallic i opened up the hood and couldnt find anything loose on the intake.

 

popping noise? like...literally a popping noise? can you isolate it to the filters? have someone else start our car, and put your ear to the grille. there shouldn't be a popping noise, per say. hm...

it's not equivalent to the "queef" noise you hear when you shut the car off, is it?

ok guys its def a knocking noise i checked the intake and there is no way there moving, this noise just pisses me off, every time i try to upload the vid it fails, I was just thinking that the cai is just sucking in air when the cars tring to start but in probably wronge

 

If its not the intake tubes, Which will cause this cause it may be hittting the RAD support.. Also is you AC on.. The AC clutch makes a HORRIBLE noise when you start the car.. I noticed this first on my wifes car now on mine..

Ill start the car and hit the deforst button which kicks the AC on.

 

mine makes a knocking noise too. Could be on the driver side where they go through the bumper support. Very close to the AC lines and could be knocking on that or on the wheel well. have a friend start the car with the hood open and try to pin point the knocking. Then get some rubber from Home Depot and put it between the intake and the point that it is knocking on. I have the same problem and need to fix it.

The tubes are too long with no bracket for support. Gives them a lot of wiggle room

 

Whats up guys, I drove over to the dealer where the intakes were installed and you guys were correct the intake are knocking on the bumper support, the service manager has the same CAI installed on his car and has the same problem, I guess its normal just have to live with it, just ordered a Stillen Exhaust ill post pics and vids after its installed, thanks again guys.

 

Dose anyone else have the same issue?
