which exhaust setup is the best for g37s coupe
planning on changing up my exhaust and was wondering what setup gives most power and sounds nice, not to raspy more of an exotic sound.
Wow another echaust thread! Go Fast intentions or MXP or Tanabe or Stillen or HKS or many other choices just search and choose what u like best. I Love Tanabe more then anything.
Isn't Tanabe only an axle-back with an extra X-pipe, or have they developed a full catback already?
But yeah, man, "best exhaust" is probably one of the most subjective mods on our cars. You really can't go wrong with any of the top exhaust manufacturers like Stillen, Fast Intentions, HKS, Ark, Tanabe, Meisterschaft and a few others. You just have to go with what you like in terms of sound. All the good catbacks will have no noticeable performance difference; just sound and looks, that's all.
With my FI exhaust, I get nothing but thumbs up and smiles from girls to random old people driving by. The sound is very exotic and lovable. Plus, this exhaust paired with HFC's has zero rasp. Ark will rasp, though, but not sure about others.

Check out the audio on my "vids" to get a sense of the HKS sound vs. stock -- ZERO rasp and a nice, throatier sound as compared to stock. Louder, but not obnoxious IMHO. Keep in mind that air intake, catalytic converters (or lack thereof!) and other modifications can affect the overall sound so try to keep your research in an "apples to apples" mode.
My "research" has led me to the conclusion that a full, cat-back system does improve performance but that all such systems come in at similar HP gains (don't recall what the average is, so do some searching on the forum).
Happy modding,

I think quality/craftsmanship, sound, and aesthetics should be the factors in determining which exhaust is "the best" in your eyes, as they will all yield similar (minimal) gains in terms of horsepower. Do a lot of research and try to experience as many different systems as you can before making a final decision. Good luck.
Thread asking "what's the best _______" (exhaust, intake, oil, gasoline, etc.) are redundant and will never give you good information because there are as many different opinions as there are parts. Everyone's criteria is different. And many find them at least mildly annoying as well because it shows that you didn't utilize the wealth of information already provided on the forum at your fingertips by simply searching just a little bit and finding vendor info, dynos, user reviews, sound clips, DIY's, etc. Threads like these tend to get flamed some. Or closed by the staff. Just like this one is about to be.
