generally, pipe diameter is inversely related to tone. for example, 3" will have a lower tone vs 2.5" at the same rpm. pipe wall thickness is a factor as well. thicker pipe walls have less tendency to vibrate/buzz.

at least this is how i understand it.

Is the m2 y pipe a decent pipe and were can I order it for 100 ?

I got megan racing y-pipe, match with a berk hfc the sounds is so much deeper then stock.

Sorry don't mean to thread jack....but does anyone know if the y and mid pipes for the journey/S are the same as the X? Meaning if I get a Tanabe Y and Mid Pipe, will it fix an X?

I have the exhaust depot y pipe on stock exhaust. Didn't really notice a sound difference if at all. Y pipes may affect sound a tiny bit, but will not really be noticeable as far as "sound changing".
