Cat Gasket

So I bought berk hfc from a fellow member and it is missing the gasket. I look at the berk website and it will cost me $70 for 4 gasket to get to my door a bit over priced? Are there alternatives? Also the smallest size gasket for the y pipe they sell is 2.25"-2.50" Y-Pipe Gasket that will fit our car stock right?

I recently installed the exhaust depot Y-Pipe and found the stock CAT to Y Pipe gaskets to be absolutely perfect. They are a few layers of thin metal compressed together. I re-used them with no problems. The header to cat gasket you could probably get locally from either auto part store or the dealership.

I blew the gasket on my Berk Test Pipes, it sounds horrid! In an effort to not wait for the gasket im putting copper svt gasket on it which is able to stand the heat of the exhaust

you only need 2 gaskets - 1 for each side that connects the bottom end of the hfcs to the exhaust. you need to use silicon gasket maker (orange stuff) to seal the connection from the hfc to the headers, on each side.

hope that helps. oh and gaskets in general, are pretty darn expensive. didn't know the type needed were sold were OE replaceable...? they shouldn't be. probably ~$15 for one. so you're looking at $30. not horrible, but pretty darn pricey for what they are. gl.

dont use silicon. buy berk gaskets there 20 bucks for a set of 2 from the motor to the cat. They are also heat proof 5000+ degrees. get them and you should be good. silicone funny guy up top. Maybe on a honda. that silicone will melt off once you beat on the car a couple of times. berk gaskets are the way to go. you pay for what you get.

odd. i suppose it could melt, but it has a surprisingly high endurance. despite, it's what fast intentions recommends, as from the factory, there are NO gaskets from the headers to the oe cats; or at least so I thought. silicon gasket makers on my car at the moment. no leaks or complains here

If you look at the exploded view in exhaust section (EX) of the FSM it shows that there is a gasket, a triangle shaped one. Next, if you look at the exploded view in the engine mechanical (EM) file it shows a ring gasket between the header and the cat... not a normal gasket... weird. When I put in my pipes I recall there being NO GASKET at all. Only thing I could think of is maybe the ring gasket was stuck to the cat inlet??? Can't check on that as those have been scrapped. ART's instructions didn't mention using a gasket and I have no leaks. Who knows
