That's pretty much what they told me though - the added airflow has changed the note/tone, and is causing something to vibrate. They tuned the tone for the stock cats obviously. Would not give me a date for the release of their own HFC's.

They have heard about the issue, and still say the from their experience with it, the Berks are the least problematic.
The ark with berks or any hfc has hiss and the infamous rattle sound . I had the same set up and ended up with a better set up

That's very true.
I have the exact same setup. ARK catback with Berk HFC's. I also have the Takeda CAI too.
ARK catback with Berk HFC hisses and rattles when both are cold during initial start up. Pretty annoying and loud. Hisses during deceleration and gear changing but mainly at lower RPM 2000-3000 at the X-pipe portion of the ARK catback... probably because of the Berk HFC. Rattles seem to come from the Berk HFC. I've had the car up and running on the hoist and this infamous issue diagnosed in person.
But as the exhaust heats up, I notice the rattle goes away and the hissing quiets down.
Our cars already have the clutch rattling noise for 6MT models and to have more noises like the exhaust hissing/rattling, kind of makes the car sound cheap.
Either way, I love the overall performance and the aggressive growl of the ARK catback.

NeverBoneStock, what was the better setup you went with? Did you get rid of the rattling and hissing with the new setup?

Bong, he's running Motordyne ART pipes. I think it takes care of the rattle but the hiss is still slightly there - from what I've been told. And surprisingly, the ART pipes are said to be quieter than the HFC's.

Good question.. I have had alot of exhausts.. The only one that has proven rime and time again is the invidia Gemini . I have intakes , headers art pipes and motordyne plenum. I have no rasp or metal tingy sounds and very little hiss. I had ark, hks , fastintentions , magnaflow and again the invidia. It has very little hiss with my setup. The others had alot of hiss, rasp and the metal tingy sounds..

Just found this writeup on the Takeda. Thanks for doing it. I thought I was 100% a go for Gen3's, but now am completely up in the air between these two intakes.

How is the quality of the intake itself? I know Stillen uses high quality couplers/tubing/filters(K&N).

I just installed the same setup

I have been running Takeda attack for approximately 2 months. Today I installed the berk hfc and Ark grip cat back. It sounds bad *** at startup and normal driving. It is super deep even at wot but there is an RPM range, possibly 4-6k, that is raspy and rattley.

It doesn't do it when it's not under load i.e. park or neutral. After reading this I'm thread I'm a little worried! I'm not tuned yet if that makes a difference.

Also, the butt dyno doesn't suggest I have received the gains I expected to feel. Could it be the ECU needs time to adapt, that it needs a tune, or the setup doesn't pair well?

I have the intentions of being tuned within the next week at Pure Tuning in toledo ohio, the closest up Rev tuner to Detroit. Has anyone had any experience with them?
