yes. maybe not the same size ones as on the stillen, but you could easily put on two filters instead of one. they would be smaller and probably less surface area though.

Hi all

I got my takeda kit after longtime of waiting, but what i saw dispointed me is 2 things

1- Coupling elbow side is way to big I cant imagine how it will tighten well on the elbow side!!!! and cant figure out too why takeda made it this wide ??!!!
2- Sensor MAF seal I just got one in the box kit !!! can I install the kit without the seal ?? Based on my research I didnt notice any other brand providing MAF sensor seal !! just scrow and blalalaaaa ready 2 go, Can I install the kit without the seal ??

other than this the kit look great and cant wait to see the result besides the single air fillter look soo aggressive =D

Thanxxx

Ive been installing my kit tonight and ran into some trouble. I was trying to mount the H shaped brackets on the bumper and the bolts that secure the brackets in place were way to short. They would not connect either end of the bracket. Anyone have this problem?

also the crank case tubing they provided was too long on one side and I had to trim it up to make the tubes fit properly... kinda irritating but i got it working.

Nice video - one thing I noticed is how LOW the air filters are. And it almost looks like you have to dismantle the bumper again to replace the air filters? Is that right?

I'm looking to try a cold air intake, have a short ram now. I know many of these posts are older but it seems that the price between the Stillen Gen3 and the Takeda are about the same now. I can get a new S Gen3 shipped for $498 and comes with splash shield, the Takeda now looks like $429 plus $65 if you want the splash shield.
I've seen two people now have the Takeda couplings fail were they're squeezed through the radiator support. Looks very easy to make the opening larger for the Stillen with tools I already have. I think I'll be on the lookout for a used Stillen Gen3.

I found out that the radiator hoses need to be protected when using the Stillen long tube.

Installed mine on 2013/12/24. Today is 2014/02/05. About 1000 miles driven.
Car is 2011 G37x Sedan, with 16K miles. 7AT.

Driving 4 miles each way to work (2 mi expressway).

Driving avg 60 miles expressway during weekends.

1. Throttling result in less engine noise and smoother uprev.
2. Exhaust noise is reduced.
3. Did not feel power loss or power gain.
4. Engine bay temperature is lower after long drive, unblocked heat from going up?
5. The hard shield works well in Seattle, so far the filter is good, including 20F night after a rainy day, and parked covered outside.
6. When outside temperature drastically change (over 30F increase from morning to noon), ECU will try to adjust and cause temp rough idling (disappears in 5-10 minutes).
7. Not tracking it thus no dyno data.

This is personal feeling and not a representative case. For forum fellow information only.

Answering some questions:
1. The elbow is the bottle neck of the airflow. After install, the narrowest place in the elbow is about 45% of the stock air filter (1 filter). My picture is improperly taken from a incorrect angle and scale is wrong.

2. The craftman ship is not as bad as I expected. It should last for years. It's not as good as stillen.

3. If you want power, you should go at least supercharger, I double any long tube intake could let you feel a power increase. There are even places that do turbo.

Little too late with this post but..... It just rained a ton where I live and my Takeda sucked in too much water and fried my MAF sensors. Now Infiniti won't cover me because it's an aftermarket intake and it'll cost me $1,000 to get repaired. Definitely get the rain guard or you're screwed.

Don't take this the wrong way, but thank you. For the comment.

What was the total extent of the damage? Just MAF?

If I do decide on the Takeda I will be sure to get the rain guard (maybe drill a few holes in it because it looks like it does too good of a job).

Wait... you installed a long-tube intake *without* a rain guard?

just installed the Takeda long tube air intake with the splash shield, hope won't get any issues with rain because it gets really wet during rain, happy so far with the sound and also I removed the spare tire, the jack and every other thing that was adding extra weight to the car, I certainly feel the increase in power!!

I have a thread started where I'm going to dyno stock baseline, stock tune plus Takeda Cai, and lastly the cai tuned with ecutek. All of the same day, same dyno at specialty z with seb. Only other mod on my car is the ark grip catback exhaust. My tune date is set for 7/24. Below is the link.
