cvt, yes, i always spray on my wheel wells, but the intake are covered right? i mean, its not like i will soak it if i spray on my wheel wells right? But yes, i do that everytime i wash my car, i like to get everything cleaned. What do you think the problem is then? Because it seemed like to those few of us, the only same mod we had was the injen. That is why we assumed that was the problem.

My buddy had the same issue, and he is running stock bumper and hood... IDK how water is getting to the filters, but it was only an issue when the car was left parked outside during the rain.

Hey UCLAbruin, have you had any issues like this with your Injens?

this seems to be more of a mafs or 'leak'...i doubt water has anything to do with it, if you hydrolock your car is dead...no going back from that. what would cause the car to stall or sputter? hmmm...a lean a/f would just cause detonation (and you'd hear that), not enough fuel or spark?...highly unlikely for a new car. maybe a leak or faulty installation of the intake causing a sort of 'limp' mode? i wonder if anyone has a vid of this...though i doubt it's as repeatable as a 335i's hpfp issue or an EVO X MR 'slow down' message.

Injen guys like UCLAbruin or Gamedog should chime in....

I've had mine on for about a year with no issues...heavy rain, alot of washing etc. The filters stay surprisingly clean, even with my vent openings. The filter sits in-board of the washer tank, as you can see in the pics, hope this helps..

^ I like that idea Gregb. If running with the inlet completely removed gives me any grief I may do something like that.
