Ark exhaust hissing/rattling sound from under the car

Hi,

I installed a brand new Ark grip exhaust couple days ago and noticed a hissing/rattling noise coming from what seems to be the catalytic converter. This sound occurs during deacceleration (around 2000 rpm) cold start idle. and most noticeable when shutting off the car. I have read that it could be heat shield or a clogged converter, but i have also read that it could simply be the gasses mixing in the pipes. Or am i just hearing a rasp?

Does anybody else with the Ark exhaust have this same issue? Any input would be appreciated.

I have some what the same issue... I hear a slight high pitch hiss (almost like a faint blow off valve) sound between shifts (5AT) and sometimes on deceleration... I know I did everything correctly, and I went and double checked it, but for my case, my exhaust were one of the very first units sold, so im gonna assume theres a slight break in the welding somewhere under there. I just dont have the time to go under and scope it out, but I did pinpoint its coming from the passenger side.

You could either take it to a auto shop and put it on a lift, or save some money, jack the car up and have someone get it and rev the throttle while your under checking it out < not the safest or smartest thing to do, but hey us backyard mechanics need to stick together ! LOL ! just make sure you use jack stands and you'll be safe, good luck !

Well from the rattling sound you describe, i would check that every bolt is tight. If it was a bad weld you would notice just a hiss. That or a crack in the the pipes but you would definitely see that on the install.

The hissing could be normal, mine always hisses whenever I decel and mine has no leaks...but I also have test pipes. Just put your car on some jacks and have a friend or someone give it some throttle while your under your car, and pinpoint where its coming from.

Rattling sounds should be from something loose, like maybe bolts i guess, cause mine doesn't have any rattling. and I think for ARK, they do not rasp, well at least for me. mine sounded deep only.
For leaks, have your car on a lift and try to feel around the pipes and feel for leaks.
Good Luck man.

I have Test Pipes and Muffler Delete and suffer from the same hiss, i get it when the car is around 3k revs and i let it coast down, so when it slowly start to lower the RPMS i hear the hiss. I do hear like a rattle when im around 2.5 k revs, is that something we can take care of?
