Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum. So I have a slight problem, I have a 2008 G37 coupe. Got it used 2 months ago. Car is highly modified (injen cold air intakes + exhaust system). However my neighbors started complaining and called the cops on me (rats :-O). Anyway long story short, I have to LOWER THE SOUND from my exhaust.

Does anyone have a USED G37 OEM EXHAUST FOR SALE? I want to lower the sound level. Someone also recommended I could buy Magnaflow Exhaust System #16820, but I am thinking that is still going to be loud.

Please let me know. I am not driving my car to work nowadays since the cop said that if he hears another complaint, he is going to give me a ticket.

Any advise on how to lower the sound level would be greatly appreciated. I have some pics of my exhaust system as well.

Tell your neighbors that your gun is much louder than your exhaust. Aftermarket exhaust is street legal and it's their sound insulation they should be worried about.

 

i would speak to a lawyer about this.. the cop can't just come write you a ticket because you neighbors call them.. im sure the dump truck that comes to pick up the trash in the morning is just as loud if not louder then your car...

Is there any places near you for sale? I could always move into your neighborhood and bring an unmuffled big block with me (lopey cam included). I'd be more than happy to show your neighbors what a real car sounds like. There is one slight downfall to this though. You're going to have to reinforce your windows.

Why didn't your neighbors just talk to you first instead of calling the cops? Because that would be the nicer thing to do?

there is no way a cop give you a ticket just bcuz of ur neighbours..

im 100% sure that their problem is not with ur exhaust.. its with ur car.. they are jealous and just wanna **** you off!!

I say go remove your muffler and make ur car sound louder and rev it everytime u pass neighbor...

To bad your not local, I have everything from cats back that just came off my G with 15k miles. I dont need it layin around and want it gone.
