Please Help - Air Intake
Hi:
I have a G37 2009 Copue S. I am thinking of instaling a Air Intake (short ram).
People are suggesting the: Takeda TR3008P or Injen. Can someone please let me know whether these are good intakes for the G37 coupe? If not what would you guys recommend?
I need some serious Advise.
Thanks in advance....

This is in the wrong section for starters. look through all the different intake threads that already exist (engine, drivertrain, FI section). There are TONS of reviews and opinions there.
Short answer, I would look at the Injen if you are set on SRI. If you want a CAI go with Stilllen Gen3.

Just installed my Stillen Gen3 and loving it. I like several things about it but my fav so far is that the sound is quiet inside until you're at high rpm's. I installed mine and then drove 160 miles home immediately afterwards. Noticed a little increase in smoothness when rolling on and a bit quicker acceleration. Especially at 80+mph.
Once I got close to home and rolled the windows down...
Going through the gears gave me a new growl that is awesome! Oh, and I got about 2 mpg better on the way home than I did on the way to get them...until I started playing around. It looks so sweet under the hood too.
Good luck in your search and welcome to the forum!

so the Stillen Gen 3? I see some pictures. But I am concern about this, would the water go through the filters, since it is in front of the grill? I am just worried about that.
So any ideas? Also the R2c is it a good one?

You don't have anything to worry about in that regard
^spot on. If you are on a lease or something like that I would advise against the Stillen Gen3 just b/c then you won't have to deal with cutting anything
I had SRI and then switched to Stillen 3rd Gen, I would say go with the Stillen. No water will get through they come with shields and I've driven through some hard rain and nothing has happened so no need to worry.
The stillen gen3 comes with a water shield that goes in front of the filters. with some of the rain storms and other storms me and ppl on here have been in, I am convinced it is absolutely impossible to damage the car (through the intake) unless you drive it into a lake lol

There is some "drilling" but it is still really easy to do. What you are cutting is where the stock intake air hole is and it is plastic. Dremel tool with the right bit and you're in business.
Oh yeah, absolutely. The install is incredibly easy. Don't take that as a turn-off to getting it just because drilling exists. Just saying if you are going to turn the car back in it might be easier not to (I have never leased a car so I don't really know the rules associated)
Still don't understand guys/gals modding leased cars. Good for us that don't mind buying used parts but sure seems like potential for lots of wasted money. Sorry if you're leasing but I'm just sayin...
^^no different than if you own unless you plan on keeping forever. You dont get **** for mods on trade in and private buyers usually want to do their own thing to the car anyway. So either way you end up having to take the parts off and seell them.
