I was speaking to a dyno shop a while back about increased performance from an intake and that some say it makes marginal difference. His response was that in the newer high performance cars like our Gs it is difficult to outperform the factory setup.

I ignored his comment and installed Injen CAI. I noticed a loss of about 2 MPG for my city driving after the ECU was reset. This hasn't changed in 8 months and I've reset several times to be sure. I think there was a change in sound (more growl) but forgot what the factory setup sounded like.

I think the dyno guy was right.

I got a noticeable gain in MPG when I put my Gen3's on. I agree the factory setup is good, but it just depends what you are going for.

I have Injen CAI.

Yes on sound increase/beefy growl.

Yes on performance increase. Search "same day dyno fun" or something like that for my dyno sheet and full review.

Searching first would help answer a lot of your questions next time.

I am hungry.

Long story short, not much. I log my mileage and driving styles. Between the 8,000+ miles pre-SRI and 8,000 mile post-SRI, the difference in MPG is so minute it's easy to argue the difference is within and due to a +/- 3% margin of error.

I got the SRI mainly for the sound and longer lasting filters.
