Sedan Resonator Removal

I know the coupe sounds like a ricer with the resonators removed, but the sedan exhaust is different from that of the coupe. I'm guessing that they added a resonator to the sedan to make it silenced, such that it carries the "luxury car" feel while the coupe is much sportier. By any chance would anyone have a picture of the stock exhaust? I'm putting it on the lift Friday i believe and I would like to see if there is a difference, then i can just cut the resonator and put in a straight pipe.

I tried it.... rasptastic!! Sounded wretched. Replaced with magnaflow resonators and it went away and sounded deeper

Envied G35, how bad did it sound??? and also did putting the Magnaflow resonators give it a deep growl, like the coupe??? and John English, putting holes in the muffler or resonator deeply impacts your performance negatively, but thanks anyways

CrazyJay, I had actually seen this vid, but what leads to me to believe that it "may" sound different is the stock, the coupe is aLOT throatier than the sedan, so what my guess is if the coupe has IDK 1 resonator the sedan MAY have 2...

I drove around for all of 15 secs before i decided that this has got to go haha. It was very hollow and "tinny" sounding. The magnaflows in place got rid of the rasp, and added a little more throaty/growl to the exhaust. Doesnt sound like the sedan but it sounded pretty good.

Do the G35 and G37 sound similar? because I've found a youtube video of a G35 with its resonators removed and it sounded pretty good in my opinion...

I think the sedan just needs more aggressive resonators. The coupe and sedan share the same resonators (same part #). It’s the coupe’s muffler that makes it sound more aggressive than the sedan. It’s positioned differently and likely has less sound absorption material within.

I personally just want an exhaust company to offer an aftermarket bolt on mid-pipe with more aggressive resonators for the sedan. I don’t want a full exhaust and I like the OEM muffler tips.

So is replacing the sedan resonator's with a pair of Magnaflow resonators worth it? What size piping diameter did you use?
