Injen SRI custom heat shield *idea
Hey guys.
Those foam tubes that Injen supplied (clamps on to top of heatshields) to act as seals in their heatshields all came off of mine. I just had an idea to fabricate something that will cover the whole intake filter area using the same clamps. This "box" should definitely protect the intakes from sucking in hot VQ engine air.
Now, can anybody suggest what material I should use? Something I can find at a local hardware shop and something easy to cut. I only have basic tools and equipment.
helpful inputs/comments are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

What are you looking for? Since I don't what your "idea" is, it's hard to recommend a material.
Maybe starting with a dense strip of foam so it's soft if it comes into contact with the hood?

My idea is to basically cover the top of my Injen SRI's intake filter space. So the filter will be boxed in, blocking of hot air from all sides.
I was thinking plexiglass?? LOL! maybe.
