Question MPG with intake exhaust?

i've been thinking about putting in the injen CAI and HKS exhaust on my G but just wondering what you all out there have experienced in MPG changes since those addition. usually MPG goes up with intake and sometimes with an exhaust too, but as i've been reading on this board, the VQ doesn't like any changes without a proper reflash. let me know what you've gotten with just an intake, just exhaust, or both. doesn't matter what intake exhaust you have, but obviously if you have either of what i'm looking for that would be best. thanks.

I have everything stock in my car, but as i read in my research it shouldnt do much even if you install both. My best guess would be around 6 MPG, but I think others on this forum would no more than I since my car is still stock.

Dont they even each other out kinda? Intake improves the MPG if you drive normal, and I think you lose 2-3 mpg with exhaust. Im not 100% sure though.

in theory intake should increase MPG. i'm not sure how exhaust would affect it. but either way, the "X" factor is the VVEL and the computer. from what i've been reading on this board the computer will try to compensate for everything you do to force the conditions back to stock. i just want to see what results everyone is getting. i'm thinking about adding this setup but it would suck to lose out power and MPG as a result.

I installed the Stillen Catback exhaust about 3 weeks ago and my mpg immediately jumped from 18 to 20 mpg. I drive about 44 miles a day back and forth to work. The drive is about 1/3 city, 1/3 hiway, and 1/3 suburban. Also, the sound is fabulous. When cruising at a steady speed the exhaust is barely noticable, but as soon as you start to excellerate it delivers a beautiful throaty tone without being excessively loud.

I will be installing the Stillen Gen 2 intake when the weather improves here in Philly. Maybe that will give me an additional 1 or 2 mpg increase.

from my personal experience, everytime i change intakes, i lose MPG's....i've talked to a few people all over different forums, everyone has the same findings....intakes will not increase MPG!

someone posted before (on v6performance.net) that because there is more air being sucked into your engine, the ecu will try to correct the air/fuel ratio by adding more fuel...therefore, u'll have an increase in hp, but u'll also burn more gas...

i don't think exhaust will cause a change in mpg...however, i do believe your foot will become heavier once you install an exhaust cause u always wanna hear your exhaust scream....heavier foot = worser mpg!

I have Injen CAI and Tanabe Medallion Touring.

All freeway road trip I got half a tank for 270mi, speed varied between 70-120.

Daily commute, 20% local, 80% freeway, I get about 350mi each tank (~17 gallons).

Preeety good for me.

i guess not many people have intakes exhausts? averages from auto G's w/ injen & HKS would be ideal, but if you have either intake or exhaust please chime in. thanks.

I gained ~1mpg on intake/catback install. Have seen this with a few cars. I'd guess people's right foot has more impact on losing mileage w/ breather mods.
