Fijuita Dual Intakes
Fijuita Dual Intakes
I have searched and found a lot of opinions but I am looking for someone who has one on their car. Please let me know the good, bad and ugly. Looking to add a little performance, little better engine sound and a little something different than stock looks for my 09 G37 S coupe.
You answered your own question. There's a reason you can't find many people with them on their car. They are junk. There's way better intakes out there that add some performance and give you a good sound. I have the Injen SRIs and the sound above 5K is orgasmic and they give a little performance boost too. If you want to spend a little more get the Injen CAI which makes some really nice gains and still gives you an amazing sound. There's also Stillen Gen 3s, R2C, and JWT. Any of these would be better than Fujita.
yes, its a piece of crap. the reason i bought it is because i got it on sale at autobac before they went out of business. and also i f**cked up my stock intake so i cant put it back anymore. also the sound is the same for me. as performance goes, it felt a little bit slow on low rpm but it really hauls at higher rpm, dunno if its from the intake or not
Fujita uses cotton media for their filters. Really crappy cotton media. They are seriously the worst in the industry. The R2c guys tested their filters, and they had the worst filtration of all the other brands (ie AEM/JWT/Nismo/K&N etc.).
Many may disagree, but I'd like to suggest that you talk to your dealership about warranty issues of any mods that are sensor related...because an intake will effectively change the behavior of the ECU. Some dealerships are better but some will be difficult.
Since you're taking the risk anyways, may aswell go with something better than the Fujitas!
Or if you're like me, just get the HKS filters and replace the corrugated piping with a COBB and keep the stock MAF setup and your warranty intact... a good tune job can get you more safer and effective gains imo.

there are others that tune your engine more precisely I'm not sure of exact names. But the stock intake itself does not have restriction problems unless you're going FI.
The 'sound' the intake produces comes largely from the engine that resonates within the intake piping to produce a a nicer growl at certain rpms. I believe Stillen and Injen are amongst the best sounding intakes.
While I agree that Fujitas aren't great, I really don't think they're that bad. Plus, they sound good. And heatsoak I only get RARELY while sitting in traffic for like 10 minutes during the summer.
