AT downshift & sluggish after intake install?

I installed Injen CAIs a while back and have reset the ECU (battery disconnect). While I like the sound at higher RPMs, I find the car sluggish at lower RPMs (<3000). I've read that this could happen and a re-tuning would probably fix this so I wasn't overly concerned.

What seems unusual to me is the AT always want to downshift under moderate or heavy acceleration. Giving it a lot of throttle it seems normal to downshift but downshifting under light or moderate acceleration is a bit annoying.

Seems like the car wants to launch like a rocket all the time. When it takes off it accelerates very quickly. I can't accelerate without the AT downshifting nearly every time.

Is this downshifting under moderate acceleration normal? Will a re-tune fix this?

I would let the intake brake in first for about 400 miles. My car feat felt sluggish but after the ecu relearn the intake it was pretty quick. Also you should get bb grounding kit. It help my 5at throttle response and etc better

The grounding kit is in my plans. Maybe I should move it up the wish list.

Yeah I definately would since you're a 5at. I think it really helps but also letting the intake brake in a little for the car to get use to will also help.

I was discussing the issue with a knowledgable colleague at work and I commented that the RPMs come up while the car is downshifting followed by a "launch". His comment was to check the tranny fluids as it may not be providing the right back-pressure.

Seems like a possibility; will check later today.
