Broken O2 Sensor HFC Install Poll

I'm debating getting HFC's to go with my MXP, but I'm worried about breaking off the O2 sensors and/or throwing a CEL afterwards.

In any event, I'm curious how many people's O2 sensors broke when doing the HFC install. I also hear quite a few people break the top bolt when they are trying to remove the stock cat.

Taking off the shift **** was a PITA due to locktite. Is that the same situation with the O2 sensors?

Thanks ahead.

Joe

busted mine on my 08 had a muffler shop do the install. I took the cat and sensor to the dealer and told them what happened. They replaced the4 O2 sensor under warrenty. Siting that it was cross threaded from factory.

It was a tough decision, but I decided to take the HFC's to my dealer to have them installed. Too many stories of broken embedded bolts, broken sensors, etc.

After the dealer installed them, I had a look at the stock cats and sure enough both top bolts were broken off and stuck in the flange. This verified my decision to let someone else deal with this one.

^ I'm kind of hesitant to take my HFC's to the dealer to do. Did they give any fuss?

had the dealer install my FI HFC's also! they also had a hard time, and broke the 02 sensor in the header during the Install! They gave no fuss and was glad to do it! They replaced the 02 sensor under warranty! Glad I had them do it, and not myself.

I spoke to a shop about getting HFCs installed and they were familiar with the O2 sensor breakage, They said usually they would warm it up a bit then try to get it out.
