When are you looking to get your exhaust installed? I might tag along with you.

Anyone hear anything back from Tanabe?

I'm not sure. Preferably OC area I guess. You have any places in mind?

Yeah I'm down. What day do you have in mind? I'll be there on Friday afternoon/night and Sunday morning.

Back on topic:

Just got off the phone with Tanabe USA, they said that when they did testing with their medallion and research for catback, the numbers came out to be almost the same. They said the piping on the stock was already pretty good and that any difference they found between stock and the current release wasn't all that much, or at least enough to make a full catback.

So, it doesn't sound like it's happening for now.

If Tanabe was charging over $600 bucks just for a muffler I would like to see what the price would be for a full setup

Yea, that's what I thought too. I guess they came to a different conclusion

I like Tanabe's packing technology in the mufflers

Damn, if only Tanabe can come out with a full catback that is the same price as Invidia...that would be bomb....

yeah i find their mufflers to be a bit high in price just for mufflers. and btw what numbers are the mufflers putting down..1-3 hp if any.... any full catback system would put down more HP compared to just mufflers i would think, thats why companys are spending more money to make a catback rather then just taking the easy way out with mufflers.!

I believe our mid-pipe is about 2.2". Tanabe might be right to say that if they were to come up with a mid-pipe there might not be significant HP improvement. We might be better off to go a muffler shop for a custom mid-pipe if we want one. Just my 2 cents.

Get yourself a torque gun to take of the bolts, the install will be a breeze.
