Does the test pipes have the oxygen sensor spacer? If not, install those and it will help. Otherwise, a tune can do it.

Would this make it pass omissions?

Disconnecting battery will not resolve your issue. The car has drive cycles it has to go through. When you disconnect the battery, there is nothing for the scanners to read until it goes through the drive cycles (varies on all cars, usually around 50-100 miles). Used to work at an emissions place years and years ago. If there is no data to test, you have to come back and re-test.

And this thread is 12 years old. Might be better to create a new one.

Thanks bro 🤙🏽 I’ll get the spacers and see if that alleviates the issue.

Also the CEL is a p0172 running rich, is this caused from this or should I be wary? Will it harm the motor? Is not passing emissions the only downfall?

Thanks! I’m buying a 2013 with 48k miles that has this going on and I wanna be as informed as possible.

I know this is not fool proof, but did this work for anyone?

Great, your CEL is off after reset? I JUST ordered these units BC straight is not an option for me. ALL HFC are back ordered. Also looks like you have some nice lower ctrl arms and sways.

after installing the pictures test pipe, I never got a CEL so I didn’t have to reset anything. I drive with those for about a year. Swapped to z1 test pipes for a bit, didn’t get a CEL. Then shortly after that, I swapped to Motordyne Art pipes and also never got CELs.

if you do, despite using the defoulers, you could try stuffing some steel wool right before the sensor. I’ve never tried that and only read it as other have. Some defoulers also have a small pocket to specifically put steel wool in there.

With regards to sways and lower control arm, I’m rocking some Eibach sway bars and the front lower control itself is stock but the bushes are spl. It has the spl compression bushing.

These are the 90° fittings with spacers drilled to accommodate two new NTK O2 sensors. No more CEL after 9 months of living with it blaring on the dash and rich condition after about 250 miles and 8-10 starts! Still rich though at 12.2ish/no cats. Need a tune.
