sounds like the thermostat. hope that is all it is easy fix if it is. Glad the intakes were not the issue. Only a few people on here got upset about the thread. You had a legit topic in my books and kept us up to date on the entire process. thanks

I'm not exaggerating anything, fom the initial post, most people got the impression that the stillen air filter placement was blocking air flow to the radiator thus causing over heating issues. My simple suggestion to prove this theory wrong was the block the radiator while running a stock intake and see that the cars still cools itself just fine. I wasn't being an ***, just suggesting some test to rule variables out of the equation. I hope the car gets fixed, but it sounds like a botched install to me

We just got back from the garage where the install was made, tech dude checked the car out and said everything was fine. Then we took off the Stillen 3G's put the stockers back on and It's like this guy is playing magic.. temperature is back to normal!
GUYS I WANT THIS INTAKE TO WORK MORE THAN YOU DO! I'm not anti-stillen or anything i'm just posting here to get more feedback and hopefully some from Kyle (who still didn't reply to my PM btw lol)
Hey Sam,

Sorry I hadn't replied yet, you sent that PM to me on Saturday...Can't a guy get a couple days off? haha!

It looks like the issue has come back with the factory setup so it seems like it might be something other than our intakes. Let us know what you find.

By the way guys, just like my signature says, for fastest service please email me directly at kmillen@stillen.com. I don't get a chance to check the boards every day but I do check my email multiple times throughout the day.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Kyle.
Well I didn't want to email you until I was a 100% positive of the intake causing the trouble. I'm having my friend's intakes installed on my G and we'll see how that goes.
Cheers,

so anyways.. we went cruising in the car to test it out was fine nothing abnormal (car is now running on stock ECU and stock intakes).. decided to drive a little more spirited and guess what, damn engine overheated! car is going to the dealer first thing in the morning! So its obviously not the intake, maybe something went wrong while installing
I think I'm gonna try installing those intakes on my car now hmmm
glad to hear you are sorting it out. let us know what the dealer says.

Let's stay on topic, and not fill this thread with useless one liners. People will want to view this and get answers as to what the problem was. The stillen gen. 3 intake is a hot product right now, and many will be concerned if it caused the issue. So, just post comments pertaining to the origial topic please so the thread doesn't need cleaning up

^^ I really do doubt the intakes cause the problem. It has to be something else that went wrong.

Sam, did you go to the dealer yet??
