*update* Question about JWTs

I installed the JWTs about a month and a half ago. Since then I have only driven a few hundred miles. Today I noticed that the filters have lost their blue color and are turning white already. I also noticed some dark sports on the side of the filter. I know that the filter loses its color, but why is it going so quickly? Thanks.

Wow, mine have been running for more than 2 months and over 1500 miles and still just like they came from factory. Contact JWT Customer service and let them know about your issue.

your engine is thirstier than others so it sucked up all the oil j/k

Seriously though that does not look good, and you dont want to be driving around with dry filters like those as you will be sucking up a lot of contamenants into the engine, reoil or contact JWT

Mine is the same. I imagine it losses that color with use.

I have had mine in for about a month and a half and have had the same thing. I heard we are not supposed to oil the filters, but any suggestions on getting the color back would be helpful. I guess we could just go buy some spray paint at the local auto store, no?

They sell the oil so that you can reapply it when necessary: http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/cus...asp?PartID=355

I have a bunch of K&N oil for the filter on my IS, I wonder if I could use that instead? Hopefully they filter won't turn purple lol, but if I wait until it gets white maybe it will just be red

I have to say the popcharger on my G35 never did that, it only got dirtier. Might I suggest a wash and a re-oil? If you need help let me know.

This is really interesting and quite concerning after such a short period of time. Where exactly did the oil go??? Worst nightmare would be to get sucked throught the filter and rather doubtful after watching http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SPd10AswCo. Did it evaporate? How hot is it there? Do let us know what JWT says.

Oiled gauze filters

Another reason to avoid oiled cotton gauze filters at all times in your Infiniti or Nissan products. A photo of the media is attached. Ask yourself how effective this can be and why is oil applied to this material. Logically, can this be a good choice for your car?

Thats interesting. But do you have the odd dark spots like mine. They are inward next to the heat shield on both filters. almost symmetrical looking. I don't know if this is related or not, but yesterday when driving, my car felt sluggish and the temp guage looking a little higher than usual when cruising. Or it might be just me. Also the car did not sound as throatier.
