Fix for exhaust hissing?

I know that the G35 and 350z both have similiar issues with exhaust hissing when you're reving the engine. Is there a fix for this? For the 350z you had to replace the y-pipe to alleviate the issue, but now that I have the Borla exhaust with 2 resonators it's still there. Anyone have any information on this?

Sounds like rocks in a tin can lol.

Are you sure you just don't have an exhaust leak?

No exhaust leak, I mean the stock exhaust does the hissing noise.

Listen to Max's exhaust http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AelW-D5LtuU and you can hear the hissing when he lets off the throttle, and no it's not because of his High flows lol.

I have noticed this sound on just about every 350Z, G35 and G37 that I have installed an exhaust system on. I have noticed it with H.K.S. Borla, Injen, Stillen and yes ours as well.

I have chalked it up to being an internal sound that is directly related to the design of the engine. What you are hearing is the exhaust pulsing by firing order through the exhaust. It is most prominent when the RPM's are decelerating. Most guys don't even notice it by we know it is there.

Personally it doesn't bother me so I really don't pay attention to it anymore...

I really appreciate the detailed explanation. I figured it was something internal, and did not know if there was a proper fix for it, but sounds like there isn't. I won't let it bother me anymore, thanks Tony.

HFC have less restriction and allow gasses to flow at a higher rate of speed through the exhaust system. Additionally, HFC increase sound pressures levels. A stock exhaust will mask these sounds while a louder aftermarket system + HFC will magnify sound.
