quesiton about tanabe!!

I'm going to get tanabe exhaust and y-pipe.
I know some people did this kind of work.

my question is does anyone had a problem, when install y-pipe and exhaust?

because i called tanabe today, and they said, i will need extra foot long pipe, because tanabe y-pipe is not made for G37. it is for G35.

but some people said they dont have any problem.

so i just wanna make it sure.

please update me with good infomations.

thanks guys!

It should fit. Companies don't usually recommend using parts that were made for other car/models on other models. Just like if you were to contact Tein, I think they would tell you not to use the G35 springs on the G37.

if it isn't specifically for the g37 why try it? just get the exhaust depot Y pipe and call it a day!

Because it's just a y-pipe. It's nothing complicated. I have the JIC-Magic y-pipe, and it fits perfect with my Greddy.

Unless I'm mistaken, the G37 application of the Tanabe Y isn't available yet but is in development. My advice would be to be patient until the G37 one is out and not to modify something else to fit when an application made for your car is just around the corner. Ask a lot of folks who have G35 springs how they feel. Some think they're great and some wish they'd waited.

As far as the medallion touring exhaust, I've never heard any negative feedback on it so far. I have one on the way and I'd be glad to share my thoguts with you when it arrives. At least it won't rattle!

i would recommend getting the exhaust depot y pipe, because it's custom made to fit our cars and it's probably cheaper than the tanabe. also, it does give some extra hp. i have it on my car and don't have any regrets.

the exhaust depot y-pipe is specifically made for our cars = g37. so unless you feel you can get one cheaper that is made specifically for our car or have reason to believe that a certain brand one will perform better, which i highly doubt, you have an option available now.

The thing is, it's JUST a y-pipe, so it's just piping. If everything lines up, than it doesn't matter if it's for the G35 or the G37.
