What have we learned
Here's a thought. If your JWT only produced 2hp/5tq on the 1st dyno after install, but later had an average of significantly higher after TEN runs, who is to say that it is better than the Injen in terms of power, when typically only one or two runs have been done post-Injen install?

BTW dentalstud, if this post sounds harsh please don't take it that way. That is not my intent. Just tired of people complaining about crap and saying this or that without providing proof. Simple rule: provide proof and most people will shut up. You don't have to like my dyno of the JWT and you can say that the Injen produces more power but without proof it usually falls on deaf ears. Like I told you guys before, I will be doing before/after dynos for all the performance mods that I get and I will provide that to the community to help you in your quest to find the best mods for your car. I would just like it if more of you stepped up and did the same thing and didn't b!tch when someone post numbers that are better than the numbers posted for the mod you bought.

Well he has a good point but that point gets cancelled out due to PMS driving her car around for 60+ miles after she did her ECU reset and before dynoing which he probably did not know. If she didn't do that then he could have a valid point IMO.
I didn't know that, and did order the JWT. Not trying to take up for Injen, I was one of the few who didn't believe the 14hp claim. I just think that when you're dealing with numbers between 2 and 10 hp, the differences are so minimal that unless the exact same procedures are followed for both cars, you can't really say one is "better" at producing power. What would PMS's car have done had she done 10 consecutive runs with the Injens and waited until the results were consistent? What would our opinion of the JWT's be if you only did a single run and gave us your 2hp gain as the gospel? I got the JWT's because the install is cake, they are cheaper, and the filters are blue (LOL, I have Athens Blue). I think the power difference is negligable, at best.

Both sides have valid points. Not sure why people feel the need to bash one or the other. As far as I'm concerned, there still isn't any holy grail of mods yet. The difference is too minimal. If I pressed my friend, I could probably have done the Injen dyno, but honestly, I feel a dyno is a tool to be used for tuning. And since we have nothing to tune with yet, I didn't bother. But just to re-iterate, the Injen's sound nasty nasty.
But if you're too much of a wimp or don't know your way around cars, I can see how people are scared or turned off by the Injen install. The point that the install is hard just makes people look like pu$$ies and maybe the JWT is right for you.
Its odd that the JWT made that much more power than the other short rams when I don't see that much of a design difference, but hell...I'm all for it! In the end, we want the car to be responsive to mods...period.
If they didn't look so ugly, I'd probably have considered them. Stock hosing looks like crap to me. But hey, people each have different preferences and some may think it looks awesome.

I got a problem with this post because it is up to the members on this forum to post these types of dyno's. PMS did and people were pissed that it only produced 5HP. A person with a stock system did a dyno as well but didn't step up and post his dyno. And from what I hear from some reliable sources it produced less then PMS's. See the major problem with the Injen intake is that is takes so long to install and it is a pain. I doubt we will ever see a true before/after dyno on the same day for this intake. Now you are basing your belief that the Injen intake makes a huge amount of power on a stock intake based on faith yet you criticize other people for believing that this intake makes no real power based on faith.
The other issue I have been having is people not posting on here if they get bad numbers like this previous guy I talked about. I got my JWT intake from Andy but I hold no loyalty to JWT or Andy when it comes to numbers. I will post what I get. If I lost power on the dynos I did then I would post them up. Andy knew this but he had faith that the intake would produce power which I did too. If it didn't produce power the dyno sheets would still have been posted with my review and it probably would have hurt JWT and Andy's sales at least from people on this site. I posted that my intake has an issue with the mounting bracket on the left intake which we got to work. I don't believe that this will be something others will have to worry about just like the issue Max had with his Injen intake but I posted it because it was part of my experience and it could help someone else who might look at all the parts before going to intall this at a dyno place. Also, this whole "wait until someone dynos this on a stock G37" is a JOKE. Who is only going to be upgrading their intake only on the G37? No one in their right mind would just upgrade their intake only on the G37 especially when the exhaust sucks as much as it does (at least the muffler). So why don't you or someone else do this, buy the Injen and take it to a dyno shop. Do a before dyno with the stock intake, take the car off the dyno and spend 1 to 3 hours installing the intake, put the car back on the dyno, and do the after dyno. Most importantly POST THE SHEETS ON THE FORUM when you are done!!! So the most concrete numbers that the Injen intake has on this forum is the numbers by PMS. If you don't like it then man/woman up and go do a before/after dyno on your Injen if you have it. If you don't then buy it and do it.
BTW, I don't think the Injen is a "bad" intake but, IMO, the JWT has much more potential. Now stop eating popcorn and go buy your Injen and do the dynos.

"Now you are basing your belief that the Injen intake makes a huge amount of power on a stock intake based on faith yet you criticize other people for believing that this intake makes no real power based on faith"
This quote is funny because I never said I thought injen was going to "make a huge amount of power." And yes I think it's fair to criticize people for believing that injen makes no power when that has yet to be shown. And I understand your point about who only upgrades their intake etc., but it's already been pointed out time and time again that gains from mods are not 2+2=4 that is why I feel a dyno on a bone stock G37 is the only true way to prove it injen is a fail. I am also not biased, I will gladly buy the JWT if injen is proven to be a fail, I want the best intake, I don't care about the name etc.
So if you have a problem with me expressing my opinion on here like everyone else does (regarding the injen) then I'm sorry, but I thought that was the point of these forums, to talk and give our opinions, present our facts (when they are available) and discuss things we have a passion for?? My post had nothing to even do with the JWT but only the injen, but I guess you wanted to turn this into a JWT fanboy thread. So I guess I'll have to keep eating my popcorn until my injen arrives, and I will probably order the JWT also and make my decision after more info comes out or until I can "man up" LOL, and dyno them myself. In the mean time the jury is still out IMO.
bboy, u took my post completely wrong. First off I would like to thank you for doing your dyno on the JWT, in fact I'm considering buying it myself even though I am waiting on my injen from AMT. The point I was attempting to make is that the jury is still out on the injen CAI being a "FAIL", and while I appreciate the dyno that PMS did, it doesn't prove anything regarding Injen's gains on a stock G37, that was my point.

The Injen design was dumb to say the least. You have more of a chance of getting air through the top of the engine then you do behind the bumper. How is it considered a cold air intake if the you're not getting cold air? It's obvious the lack of piping is a better selection for performance and ease, dyno proven.
I agree, but naturally when you receive cold air through the piping that will alleviate heatsoak. People are saying the Injen piping is hot to the touch and that raises a flag for me right there. So their concept to minimize heatsoak isn't actually minimizing heatsoak, is it?
