FINALLY! 3months of waiting...FI catback installed
Long story: (i'll have cliffs at the end)
i was #9 in the Group Buy. Ordered on Feb. 21, received exhaust May 19. Nearly 3 months. I never waited for anything this long...ever.
People say its worth the wait. 3months? i dont really think so. My biggest gripe about the Intimidator exhaust was that the tips were too small...so when FI said there were optional tips, that's when i called. I was told by THM that the Ti tips were 4.5", which is wat i wanted. About 1 month after i placed my order, i was told by Tony (FI) that the tips are 4" and that he doesn't know why i was told that they were going to be 4.5"....I said,ok. and thought whatever, someone made a mistake, its already a month i should be getting the exhaust soon anyway since the first few ppl got theirs in about a month. Also, ppl said the tips look bigger in reality than the pics. I dont' really think so, they look exactly like the pics that solopresident posted of his car, except mines are Ti. i had about 3 other ppl look at the exhaust and thought that the stock tips were bigger, actually i think the stock tips look bigger too cus of the oval shape
anyway, i finally had some time to install the exhaust today. took a few hours. Mainly did it myself, but had my bro help me with some of the physical parts. got the HFCs as well, but too hard to put on so i'm gonna have a shop do it.
Fitment: was pretty good...about wat i expected. Had to do a lil modification to a couple of things near the muffler to make the passenger's side fit. A lil cutting of the heat shield and removal of a plastic cover...nothing major. One of the hangers, however, had me a lil concerned...as if the lil part that goes on to the rubber hanger on the passenger's side was a lil shorter than i would have liked it.
here's a pic of what i'm talking about:

also the connection here doesn't liine up that flush...but i guess that's what the gaskets are good for. other than that, i'm very happy with how it fit on the car

FINISH: The quality of the exhaust and welds look amazing. Top notch!
SOUND: very nice deep rumble. i did do a video with audio but it came out crappy due to wind noise. So i ended up not posting it. During spirited driving is the only time i really notice the exhaust and its not overly loud either. Has a really nice tone. No rasp at all. Hwy cruise in 6th gear, cant tell at all. 5th gear at 60mph, u can hear a tiny bit if u have the radio off. Cant say if normal driving is any louder, i think its just a deeper tone than the stock exhaust, not really louder.
PERFORMANCE:i kno ppl like to see these mods give power, but i duno how u can tell from just 10-11 hp....my butt dyno tells me theres a lil power difference but not much, which is what i expected
excuse the typos...its getting late and i'm tired
Cliffs:
#9 in group buy
waited 3 months
was misinformed about tip size
Looks: so-so..still don't like the tip size or design
fitment: good
finish: awesome
sound: good to awesome
performance: butt dyno says yes...but only a lil

You dont know how to take pics? You not proud of your exhaust?
Are you not the only one with 4" Ti Tips on the older Fast Intentions Exhaust?
You do the math... people wanna see ... why not share?
