Stillen headers, a do or a dont mod???

I have Berk HFC's and Stillen cat-back installed and am thoroughly impressed. I've been eyeing the Stillen headers, but have read about how efficient our stock ones are, and how the HP gains are minimal at best. Should I do it to complete my set up, or let them go because they are not needed? I also read how expensive they are to install, but got a quote from the guy who did my HFC's and cat-back for $450. Thats not too bad in my book, but on the other hand, that's about 1100 dollars for very few HP. Your thoughts??

Well I have the STILLEN 409 ceramic coated stainless headers on my car and lover them. They are lighter then the factory manifolds and have bigger tubes then the factory tubes. The factory tubes are pancaked so there flat and that reduces flow. The equal length design really helps scavange the exhaust really well. I have these headers along with the STILLEN air intake and a HKS exhaust. The combination is great sounding and produces good power. Although it's not a cheap mod. The headers were $750 and the installation was $650. The headers fit great though. You don't have to modify anything at all. Good luck with your decision

From what I read in other threads about headers, our stock set-up is equal length?? True or false??

The another thing to keep in mind is if you are going to go FI in the future then these headers are not suppose to work. If you do this, please do a before and after dyno. It would be great to see what the gains are for this mod. No one knows and all that is on this site is speculation.

There was already a good post on the HP increase with the Stillen headers. It seemed worth it to me. That's going to be my next mod...just got Stillen HFC's and exhaust and I am happy with the results. I say go for the headers too.

F%$K all these people who complain about how much $$ it cost for HP/TQ. If you have the money....go for it

No sorry I don't have any dynos. In a way the factory manifolds are equal length but not completely. The tubes are caved in and dented in some spots. Which reduces flow. The STILLEN headers have a little bit bigger size tubing on them. The merge collector is also a little bigger and nicer. The factory collector is not that free flowing. So I say its a good mod to do. Waiting to get HFC'S.

They are the same headers they supply for the G35, 350Z... Does this make any sense considering the revised engine in the G37??

I've heard from a tech that the gains are great, but the quality isn't that great. Bad welds, sub par bends etc. With that said, the tech doesn't know how but agreed 100% that they do make gains.

Personally i would say no... for the price its not worth it and that could be 1100 put toward forced induction..

just a quick update, I went ahead and got the headers, I paid $500, install was $400. I feel a difference and will have an after dyno soon to compare to my dyno with just HFC's and cat-back. For $900, I think the headers are a good mod, but all this depends on my dyno results

Glad you are happy with them. I am very interested to see if they produce some real gains.

Personally I will do everyting just short of headers. Intake, HFC's, exhaust, and ecu. For $1,000 I would go with any of the things I listed or even suspension if you dont have that done yet.
