Dual exhausts are mainly found on V-6 and V-8 motors because these engines have two exhaust manifolds-one for each side of the engine. On the other hand, a dual exiting exhaust system uses a special muffler to split the one head pipe into two tail pipes. Dual exiting systems can be installed on 4-cylinder, V-6 and V-8 engines, even if there is only one exhaust manifold."
