I got this response from Injen about their intake...Does it sound practical?

I e-mailed Injen about availability and progress of the Injen intake for our G37 and here is the response.

"Joseph,

The reason why we are taking a little longer on this intake is because it is a very difficult intake to make safe horsepower. However, after months of testing we were able to make 14hp and 14lbs of tq (at the wheels) throughout the entire powerband and still maintain a factory safe air/fuel ratio. This system debuted at SEMA, there are some images floating around on the G37 forum. We are still in the final stages of testing to ensure that there will be no problems once the intake goes into production. An ETA for release is around mid to late February.

14HP....to the wheels?? Across the ENTIRE powerband? He probably means mid-to-high range (eg 4k-6.5k) Does that sound like it makes sense? 14 HP to the CRANK @ PEAK alreeady seems optimistic. Do you guys think this guy is accurate?

Doesn't 14HP to the wheels sound a little far fetched.. Considering any other intake is nowhere near those numbers..

That's what I was thinking....14HP to the crank at peak is probably what he meant. He was just sales/marketing he wasn't in tech or R&D....But then again he made it a point to say "at the wheels." Hmmm...Either way I am probably gonna go with Injen...

Sounds like hes just into selling his marketing. Guess will have to wait until a 3rd party tests it and confirms.

That is the Copy pasted response they are giving to everyone... I posted about it in the thread a while back
https://www.myg37.com/forums/intake-and-exhaust/176078-injen-intake-for-g37s.html

Everyone was skeptical back then about the 14s too...
But the response you posted is EXACTLY word for word like what I recieved a month ago...

right now it really means nothing. they are just throwing out numbers. Once they are released and people start dynoing them we will see what they really make.....

Manufacturer claims are ALWAYS far fetched and inflated. I think you'll be lucky to get 5whp.

No possible way you get 14whp from an intake. No way.

What about those Fujita intakes that made ~9whp? With the hood down too.

I'd imagine Injen makes a higher quality product and could pick up an additional 5whp maybe from design and the hood being open.

If I buy a set there will definitely be a before and after dyno
