The Plenum mods were the best NA mods for the G35 IMO. They produced the easiest and safest gains. Intakes don't work very well on VQs. Exhuasts add some high end but you lose a little on the low end. The plennum mods gprovided gains throughout the powerband.

totally different set up then mentioned above...

With the design of the plenums on the VQ35HR and VQ37VHR they are totally different types of manifolds...

One thing I have looked into is mounting the VQ35HR on a VQ37VHR and Vice Versa to change the power band like changing the lower collectors on the VQ35DE Zenki / Kouki motors...

To go between the VQ35HR and VQ37VHR manifolds, the lower collector AND manifold will have to be changed...

Some of the factory gaskets on the VQ37VHR are pretty nice. The intake collector gaskets are 3 layer metal unlike the 1 layer metal on the VQ35HR/DE.

I figured there'd be an explanation over here. There are other makes, too.
I happen to have one of these on my FX35. All part of what makes me go faster.

well in the early G/Z cars the manifold had an uneven design were the intake runners at the rear ( I believe ) didnt recieve as much intake air and the forward runners. People like motordyne, skunk2, etc. designed a spacer which rasied and evened the upper half of the intake manifold which gave more power because the airflow was equalized.

that pretty much the gist of it. I dont think the later (HR) motors or the vq37 will see too much of a gain as relative to the first cars cause Nissan has fixed this in house.

That website was a good read... Thanks...

Seems like an easy install too? or is it suprisingly hard...

i like things that dont rack my brain on the install and show good results...

what companies may have interest in our cars?

I have also heard this. There has been a lot of talk that a Spacer is not needed or wouldn't even help. I wonder if it is true and I am waiting for a good spacer and have someone run numbers.

I'll help to a point because your increasing the amount of air the manifold can hold ... but if you get too crazy (which is a very thin line ) with increasing the size you wont be tuned for all that extra air.

I caled Motordyne 2-22-08 and they said they have nothing in the works as far as plenum spacers go. It sounded like they will not be able to make them for the VQ37. The guy said he is looking at the manifold though but I have no idea if they could actually improve it.
