I think the 18" resonators and 2.5" diameter piping would be my desired config as well.

Also, is it just me, or was the vendor apologizing at the beginning of this thread for only being able to deliver a 21hp increase over the stock setup? That's excellent!

FI appears to be the top-end of exhaust mods.
There's a lot to appreciate here, I agree. Excellent design and craftsmanship.

If all you did was bolt on a catback, 21hp seems like the very high-end of what you can expect, but not impossible. It's the aftermarket cats (or test pipes) that deliver gains, more so than the catback. And cumulatively, with an intake mod, you get to the point of diminishing returns without a tune.

Top end manufacturer? I'd say so, although GT Haus has quite a reputation, at twice the cost; or 4x the cost if you go titanium. The Motordyne setup seems pretty top-shelf, as well, and competitive with FI. But regardless of comparisons, I think it's a fair statement that Fast Intentions is top-end in its price range, and then some.

Now that it's sitting on my Family Room floor, and I'm studying the pieces, I'm pretty impressed. Next up is hoping I'm impressed with fitment and exhaust note. I think it's a safe bet to have high expectations there, too.

Cats were pretty impressive looking last year, eyeballing them before the install:

Mine arrived yesterday, after an atypical 14 week wait. Still a week or two out from getting it installed.

Hey Rochester, did you end up going with fully polished piping or just the unpolished? Figure I'd ask someone who is facing the same weather/road salt (Buffalo) as me lol. Also wondering how you plan on protecting that beautiful investment. I'm trying to hold out for an awd motordyne but if I happen to catch a good deal on a FI CBE I'm all over it after hearing that sound clip you posted!!! That wait though lol agonizing!!

Just the cans and tips. The pipes are not polished.

I have no plans to protect the finish, other than keeping the cans & tips clean. Being SS, it should last me as long as I keep the car, which is probably another 6 years. If something goes south before that, I'll replace the exhaust. Highly doubt that will happen, though.

FI sends you two 2-bolt gaskets; which was itemized like that in the "hardware included" sheet. However, you really need four of them, otherwise you need to re-use the gaskets at the cats.

The flange bolts & nuts they send are nickle-plated zinc, not stainless steel. In any event, I'm replacing them all with SS hardware, so that kind of addresses your question about Northeast winters. [edit] 7/16" serrated and flanged hardware just doesn't exist in SS. Been looking off an on now for over a week, with all kinds of "sorry no" responses from retailers. Go figure. So I'm SOL on 8 of the nuts & bolts. However, I was able to score replacements for the six 3/8" nuts & bolts. So there's that.

Fitment was spot-on perfect, although we had to customize the OEM mid-frame connector a little bit with some washers. I think because these are 2.5" pipes, which made the clearance really tight.

There is only one hanger on each muffler, which means there's an extra hanger-point available on the car, if you want to weld a second hanger to each muffler. We might do that when I go back next month for a follow-up to the install.

As for the wait time, they do say 10-12 weeks for catbacks. Mine took 14, but they had supply issues, so you can't fault them too much for that. Like most people, I was getting pretty anxious towards the end (really anxious ), but that only validates the plan, kicking off a purchase like this in the dead of Winter.

So, just some minor nits about included hardware, and potential for some custom hangers. But all told, this setup is freaking gorgeous, solid, and like I said, worth every penny.

And the sound... OMG, that sound in the lower gears under aggressive load. Total emotional wood.

Those Sebring Mufflers are gorgeous.

Can you purchase these outside of the CBE from FI?

For the last four months, I was focused on expectations for the sound for this new exhaust. (Which is awesome, BTW.) But it was off my radar that these Sebring Tuning cans and tips are actually quite beautiful. They're both very, very high quality looking components.

And with spot-on fitment to the OEM bumper cut-outs:

The point of all the resonators for me was to squash in-cabin drone at cruising speed... which your post seems to confirm.

Good news, smakfactor1.

Confused, 2.5" piping is standard for FI.

EDIT:
Never mind, I just realized you have a sedan.

The FI turns heads, no?
