thanks guys, im glad i finally pulled the trigger!

and triple, i got invoice pricing minus the $4500 incentives for october (plus 3 free oil changes). if you take into account the $650 AMEX money and the Obama 2009 New Car Tax Deduction, I saved over $9,000 off MSRP.

I got quoted 36,200 without Nav, what a good price! I need to find another dealer...

Where did you purchase your car? I'm in MA

hey Joe,

im in PA. since i started this thread, infiniti has cut the price by another $500! so technically, you should slash off $5,000 from your negotiated price. had i waited another week, i'd be $500 richer.

you should tell your dealer you want invoice pricing, plus the $3,000 cash-to-dealer incentive, plus the $2,000 sell-it-down incentive.

good luck with the negotiations!

Iron Guard...Congrats on your new car....looks awesome!!

Needed your advice on the same car. I live in Boston and after running around all the dealerships in MA and one in New Hampshire, I've settled on one - G37 X Coupe - Premium, Nav & Wheel Locks - Blue Slate.

Price - After haggling at several places, the best I could get out of this particular dealership is $40,000 (including everything). Broken down as follows..
Price - $37,295.06
Sales Tax (6.025% in MA) - $2330.94
Reg Fee - $125
Admin Fee - $249

It's not as good a deal as yours and the car has been located in NJ and is being shipped to MA. So do you think I should haggle some more? I just want to determine if I'm being taken for a ride. The wheel locks cost $159 (accounted for in the price). I don't have a good credit history, so I wouldn't qualify for Infiniti financing anyway. So, essentially, I'm using the cash back scheme with standard financing. Please advise.

well your price before tax is not bad, but it could be better. i dont know what the market is like in MA, so that may be the best you can get. wheel locks are usually free but i see they are charging for every little thing.

having a car shipped adds cost. and i dont know if that admin fee is legit or just pure profit. i think $500 above invoice is a good price (before the $5000 in incentives) and anything over that is added profit to the dealer.

Thanks for that. So, if the car cost 44,825 at MSRP, how much would invoice be?

invoice, if i remember correctly, is around 41,111. check edmunds. the dealerships can print out material that deviates from the real invoice, so beware and know the number.

Buying in MA

Akod and krayziejoe - I'm in MA too and I bought an '09 G37x coupe from Prime Infiniti of Hanover back at the end of June...they gave me the best deal and did not play any games. Had the car on the lot and matched my best financing deal too - highly recommended.

I did my deal via email with every dealer in MA as well as RI and NH and Prime of Hanover was a straight shooter.

I also had several dealers quoting me for locating a car with different color choice and was quoted about $500 above the deal I got from Prime for shipping the car in. I decided to go with my second color choice for about $800 less and it was on the lot with only 70 miles on it - no regrets.

I got the full mktg incentive available at the time and Prime also gave me a bit more of a discount. I dealt with Scott Martinelli (internet Sales Mgr).

I got the wheel locks and trunk net for free - found them in the trunk when I got home though I didn't ask for them so that was a nice bonus. There was no pressure to buy accessories and no hidden fees. Prime was very up front about everything - wish I could say that about every dealer.

If you or anyone in your immediate family is a vet, you can get good financing rates from penfed.com

To be fair, Herb Chambers Infiniti of Westboro came close and they spent a good deal of time with me when I visited dealers for test drives, etc. Inskip Infiniti in RI also came close with price.

I used Edmunds.com to contact dealers initially and then when I got a bunch of email replies I sent out my own email with specific quote request to every dealer and continued from there...second time this same approach worked well for hassle-free car buying for me.

I also got a good deal on OEM all weather mats from here:
Prime Parts Superstore

Good luck!
