congrats... yeah i still have my e36 m3 as well. I just need to head back to the dealership and make up my mind between the 335i and the G37. I can't walk away from a car that can run high 12's with a $500 chip.

I hear you about the performance of the 335i. But when it came down to it, the 335i just felt like a bigger bloated version of a E36 M3 (albeit faster in a straight line). It's a great car, but was just too similar to the M3. I enjoy all types of cars, life's short, and so I wanted something fairly different this time around. I've had several sedan's, motorcycles, 2-seater roadsters, etc. What I've never had, and always wanted, was a 2+2 style "true" coupe sports coupe. Even though my M3 and a 335i coupe both only have 2 doors, they still feel like a sedan. While not as purposeful as a Vette/350Z/911, the G37 with it's sunk-in cockpit feel with high door/window lines etc gives that same GT coupe type feeling. Honestly, I felt more in control of the car in a M3/335i, but I'm looking forward to spending a few/several years laying back a bit, with the awesome cockpit and view of the wheel bulges ahead of me, etc. May sound odd, but driving the G37 just gave me a "cooler" feeling that jumping into another BMW sports sedan. And for a sports sedan, I found the E36 M3 to be pretty much perfect, so only jumping to a fairly different type of car could suffice without regret of dumping the M3.

Now next time around, I could easily see myself getting a used 335i for a daily driver along with a roadster for fun (I really miss having a roadster). But for now I'm looking forward to enjoying the coupe/GT type of experience!
