so i just bought my g37 sport liquid silver with grapite interior. premium, nav, illuminated kick plates(fancy name for INFINITI that lights up on the side), spash guards, carpeted trunk mat, and net.
spoiler and tinting will be done when i go back to the dealer after the holidays for my check up (but already paid for, so feel free to count them).
allright, so i am new here, so my name is josh, i live in tampa florida, i hate to capitalize letters.
previous car: 2001 mitsu eclipse spyder with tons of engine work (aftermarket turbo, built engine, and everything that goes with it.. but this is about the G, not the spyder.)
so i love the car so far, it is pretty quick. i find that the car wants to keep me safe, the LSD light comes on a lot when i lose traction or if i try to take a turn to fast, or if i am trying to change gears at a very high rpm. i'd say it's prob a good thing.
so keyless everything. dont need the key to get into the car, dont need the key to turn on the car, dont need the key to lock the car. just have the device thing. (not sure what to call it.)
car starts with a push button ignition. just step on the clutch when u get into the car, and push the button. nothing else to it.
when you get into and out of the car, the windows roll up and down (respectively) not sure exactly how much, but maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch? i think the purpose of this is so that the car cant be jimmy'd. either way, whatever the purpose, i like it.
voice command is awesome, ripping the songs to the "music box" (the 30 gig hard drive that comes with the nav package) takes about 10 mins per full cd. it seems however to only want to rip songs that are burnt as audio files, not as data. maybe i am burning them wrong, who knows.
i love the analog clock in there. i know all infiniti have that, but it is so damn elegent, and this car is suposed to be luxury, at least i think it is. climate control works like a charm, dual climate control actually works.
if you plan on having passengers in the back, make sure they are not 6 feet tall.
not a lot of storage room in the car. glove box is about normal size for a glove, and the center console leaves a lot to be desired. barely any room in there, and if you leave the removable cup holder in there, you'd be able to fit a cell phone charger, and that is it. i can fit my wallet into the cup holder, and then it is PACKED.
bluetooth my phone to the car works well, just make sure you read the manual when you are doing it, might make your life a little bit easier. i am sure anyone who is capable of reading this forum can figure out how to pair, but there are a few things you might want to read.
the headlights are very bright, and the brights are no joke. on the highway, as soon as i could see a green sign in the distance, like a huge exit sign, i flip on the brights, and it makes it SHINE. even in the day. it is rediculous.
reverse gear camera thing in the back. okay, this rocks. as soon as you go into reverse, your screen will turn into a camera display automaticly of what is in back of you. as you turn your steering wheel, the display will show you the path of where you will wind up - kind of video game style. still look behind you when you back up, as the camera is not very wide angle, and if kids are running around, the camera wont see them in time.
seat warmers get goin in about 30 seconds. definately not needed where i live, but i tested it out anyway. climate control works very easily, especially if you get familiar with the voice controls.
music - sound is not bad. if you are looking to impress people with super loud volume.. well you need aftermarket. the bass is plenty to give you some bump IN the car, but people wont hear you outside of your car.
i think the music part of the car really sums up the whole overall theme of this car: this car is for YOU. this car is not designed for other people. it is all about the driver (and passenger) of this car. so many luxuries and amenities in this car that are all about comfort. people may or may not look at this car and be amazed, but i sure love to get into it (not so much getting out) every day so far.
looking forward to meeting all of you guys!
edit: oh yeah... i bought the car on dec 22nd.
