Broken Cat Bracket

Hi,
2013 G37S 60k miles.

I found an exhaust rattle on the passenger side near the catalytic converter, specifically where a bracket connects to the cat and transmission..
It seems to have broken off the cat.
I've been driving with that broken bracket for 1.5 years and don't seem to have any issue other than the bracket rubbing against the cat making an annoying sound at 30mph and low rpm.
Wondering if I can just cut off a few inches of that bracket where it's rubbing against the cat, as it's still secured to the transmission and drivers side cat, the o2 sensor and wires are still held in neatly.
Not sure if it can be welded back on or if JB Weld could hold it but cutting it seems helpful. Definitely not looking to replace the cat given it's price.

What do you think as I have a few months before warmer weather.
Below is a pic of the bracket beside the passenger cat.

Any competent muffler shop should be able to quickly and cheaply fabricate and weld a bracket to keep everything buttoned up. Alternatively, you can just take a grinder and take about 1/2" or so off the broken piece and call it a day as well. Do not waste your time on JBWeld or the like- they will not stand up to the heat and vibration that those components are subject to.

Keep in mind that many of us with aftermarket catalytic converters do not have any support bracket and have driven years/ countless miles with no issues. If you want everything "stock" or for that "peace of mind" factor then repair the bracket. Otherwise, chop a little bit off to eliminate the noise and drive on.

Just my 10˘...

Thanks for your insight. I'm leaning towards grinding it off as well
