Unhappy Code u0101 (Lost Com w/ TCM)

i had a p0720 code, wouldnt shift past 3rd. replaced the vb and tcm with another used one from a 2013 G37x sedan (same as mine) matchinf serial numbers and all, did plenty of research thru here and from dealerships and knew it was plug and play.
BUT.. now it wont communicate w the tcm and i think i blew a fuse. ive tested both the tcm fuses in the fuse boxes under the hood. they both work but weirdly, the smaller fuse box in front of the battery, NONE of the fuses light up with a continuity tester WHILE the battery is connected.. disconnected the battery and it all of a sudden lights up??? no idea how that works. and btw everything that is controlled by that fuse box works, like the ac and radio. car will not start, doesnt show P, R, N, or D on that gauge cluster, and when i try to start the car it just goes blank and stays with the ignition on, no clicking or turning over. nothing..
