Done a oil pressure tests again and the numbers was like before and in spec with a lb or so from the fsm even though I was told I wasn't.
I finally got some codes and it was the evap code. So after searching all possible fixes for limp mode(before the evap) I got loaded up on some parts from a pick a part to see if I can get lucky.
So I changed the evap canister and gas cap and inspected the hoses .. Cleared the codes. Drove it hard for 5 miles and no issue.
I park it and a few hours leave it goes in limp mode.
So I put in both vvt solenoids a after I cleaned them and tested them. I unhooked the battery for a few hours and every since I changed those solenoids out its been running without going into limp mode.
Even though when I took those solenoids out and they looked brand new with no oil build up on them . It's still possible they went bad or got hung up. I haven't tested them yet but still possible it happened.
I also picked up the vvt module and relays and that was going to be my next step. I've got about 300 miles so far. So fingers crossed all is well.
Usually a P0524 is almost never the oil pressure switch even though it says low oil pressure. The oem switch is a normally open switch that closes contacts once it sees pressure so technically an actual faulty switch will introduce the oil light as well.
Almost all of the time the p0524 is either VTC solenoids and or rubber seals of the VTC assembly or switched VTC connectors. Many times the p0524 can join the dreaded P0021.

Since Gallery gaskets break inconsistently what you end up having is these phantom codes up until bigger breaks develop and you start seeing them more constantly. You might be fine for now however keep that gasket in the back of your head.

I'd suggest you invest in a cellphone borescope adapter which will let you snake a camera into the timing chain area. The removal of the VTC solenoid plate is neccesary to insert the camera from there you can visually inspect this area without taking the whole cover off.
Being that your car is an 09 X that's barely driven it can be considered as a good candidate for a failing gasket. Unsure on your thoughts about a wide ranging oil pressure gauge however this might save your engine and some money in the pocket.
These engines rely heavily on proper oil pressure for both the VTC and VVEL system so now that you have baseline numbers the rest is just monitoring to make sure they dont get lower. Any decrease over time will let you know how much realistic time you'll have to change them.

That's a great idea about the camera.. I will do that. I'm also going to add a oil pressure gauge for the peace of mind as well!
