Code B1134 or B1134-00 need help

Hello, I just bought a used g37 and didn’t notice the air bag light on (stupid I know) and I can’t get ahold of the seller to ask what happened. My question is, how do I get this light to turn off? on Bluedriver the code says side airbag module left hand (open) I’ve checked fuses and they’re good. And I should also note that the horn doesn’t work (but steering wheel controls do). Other than that the car is perfectly fine. Clean good shape, doesn’t look like it’s been in an accident and there’s proof of that (carfax was clean) so yeah! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just because Carfax says its clean does not guarantee the car is clean. It just means that no (potential) damage has been reported. Theoretically, the car still could have been in a minor collision and it went unreported to the insurance company. Carfax is only as reliable as the information that is reported to them.

That said, you can't turn off the SRS light. A fault has been detected in the seat module. It could be as simple as a disconnected harness or a bad module. Either way, until that issue is repaired, that light will stay on.

IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, you can disconnect the battery, wait at least 3-5 minutes, then check for loose wiring connections BOTH under the seat and inside the seat. If you are inexperienced or have limited mechanical skills, take the car to a reputable shop for diagnosis/ repair. I'm not judging you, but safety is vital here. Working with the SRS airbags is not to be taken lightly.

Note, ALL SRS Airbag connectors are either bright yellow or bright orange. They are easy to locate and check.

Same with the horn: loose wiring connector, bad relay, fuse, etc.

Not going to beat you up, but are you sure you didn't get taken?

This is the type of help I was looking for, thank you man. I think it could be a loose connection because the car was extremely clean, it’s on the higher side in KM’s and looks brand new still. The interior looked like a brand new car, my guess is that it was detailed and they messed up the connector somehow. I do have some mechanical experience and I’ve watched videos on making sure the airbags were off so I think I can do it. Also do the seats need to be taken out to inspect the connectors? if so then that’s fine, I’ll do it. I just wanna get this done. But anyways I’ll probably wait for my days off and tackle this, hoping it’s something simple. The car is also active status, not rebuilt so if it was in an accident it must’ve been very very minor or possibly a hit and run? I don’t know.

First, I would check the connectors underneath the seat. For that, you can just remove the two front bolts and slightly tilt the seat back. You just need a few inches...

To check the module inside the seat you will have to remove the seat back cover. Underneath the seat there are two (2) elastic straps with plastic hooks that are clipped onto the metal wire frame under the seat. Just unclip those two straps and the cover unzips. This should give you enough room to check the wiring/ connectors.

Remember, battery disconnected at least 3-5 minutes.

All SRS connectors are either yellow or orange and have a black locking tab.

If you haven't already, I recommend you download the factory service manual from here. For this project you will want sections SE (Seat) and SRC (SRS Airbag Control System), though I would download the whole manual and have it on hand.
