Don't get into the "what if" game. That will only serve to drive you crazy.

Start with the simple things first. In this case the fuses. Only then can proceed to the next step.

As I've said in many posts, the electrics on these cars are very tough. Nissan did a good job there (well, thanks to Renault). They can handle a lot before breaking completely.

Let us know what you find and we'll go from there. (and, no to that social media nonsense, sorry).

The Problem: Get in car and hit the ignition/start button but it does not respond. It lights up fine, but is in "lock" and does not move to "ACC" or "On".

When the problem started: I had to drop the engine to replace the front diff and the power steering lines after I grenaded my old front diff. I did disconnect the engine wire harness from the ECM and drop the engine, then put her all back together. I have double and triple checked the connecters.

Steering wheel is locked. Not sure if that has any bearing on things. Before pulling the engine I did lock the steering wheel then tied off the steering wheel as well before indexing and disconnecting the steering linkage at the rack.

The key fob works fine. It unlocks and locks the doors, pops trunk, and works the alarm. Lights in car work fine, and can turn the headlights on and off. Seats move fine. From what I can tell the BCM and fob are fine. The battery is charged, and I've tried also hooking up a jump pack to see if maybe it just didn't have enough power; no change.

No strange lights or the like on the dash. I got the red flashing security light when i get near the car (blinks once every three seconds as it should, I believe). Close the door and the dash gauges indicate to hold down brake peddle and hit the start button, so I do, but nothing happens. It doesn't even switch over to accessories.

At a loss and would love some suggestions to poke at.
I am having exact same issue intermittently…the last time I had AAA come for battery service. He disconnected the battery and teated and battery was good. He reconnected and had me re-try and sure enough.

Happened again today so I disconnected the negative…waited a couple minutes and reconnected…started right up. I noticed it only happened when it has rained. Prob a hook leak somewhere causing it to short🤷🏽‍♂️

Check to see if the carpet in your passenger-side footwell is wet. If you are taking on water there then it's likely the BCM and its connectors may be wet, and that can cause a ton of weirdness. If you're lucky and it's dry, check under the hood behind the battery to be sure the IPDM has its cover in place and is not taking on water. Hope you can figure it out, intermittent starting is not good.
