Mine always seems really high when I first start the car but after a few minutes of driving it always matches what my phone says the temp is outside. Maybe there is an offset in the settings?
The sensor is usually right behind the front grille on most Nissan/Infiniti, it will read high until you get moving as it is being warmed up by the radiator/condenser right behind it. Mine reads 3-4 too high until the car starts moving. Subarus have the same behaviour.
Its too bad someone doesnt make a plug and play relocate kit with an extended wire. I bet if you got the thing further away from the motor it would solve it
i have seen 109 this summer on like a 90 degree day.... so yeah. as others have said seems to eveb out longer i drive
As others have written the sensor will read high if you've been parked on a very hot day. After you drive a few minutes it will read the same as on my IPhone
Mine read low the other day. It has been high 80's here, the nose of my car was in shade all day, and the temp sensor showed 65 for a very long time, even though it was 85. After about 20 minutes of driving it finally started climbing, but I think it was only at the low 70's by the end of my drive.
The temp sensor in my Titan is perfect, I don't think it is even affected by engine heat or idling.
Anyways, not a prob as usually the temp in my coupe is "good enough for gov't work"
