Door lock won't work

I bought a used 2009 g37x coupe a little while ago and have been browsing the forums, I decided to make an account so I can look for help with my issue.

My drivers side door lock does not work when using the fob or power lock button inside the car, the passenger side does work. The manual lock does work.

I'm guessing there is a problem with the lock power actuator inside the door. Can anyone point me in the right direction for cheap parts, I found a new actuator for $250, which seemed high.

Is this a simple fix and is this a common issue with these cars? I bought it used, the warranty is over and I'm sure the dealer I bought it from won't be any help.

I didn't notice when I first bought the car, I would just hit the button on the fob and go on my way.

Other then this I'm very happy with the car. It hauls ***, looks and sounds great.

Welcome! Your factory service manuals are here:
Index of /FSM/G37/Coupe/2009
"DLK.pdf" is "Door and Lock"

So, the power lock button on the driver's armrest does not function at all, or does it only unlock the other door? Is there a similar switch on the passenger's armrest? (Sedan guy so what do I know?)
Does the driver's door unlock electronically under any circumstances?
Does the drivers door external "request" button open anything (two presses should unlock both doors + the fuel door)?
Can you control both electric windows from driver's door?

I guess it could be a bad actuator but I'd look at a couple things before digging all the way into the door. First is to make sure that switch panel on the driver's arm rest has it's plugs fully seated - underneath. You need to pop it off to check. I believe that panel actually contains a processor and has several wires connecting to it through plugs. 2nd thing to look at would be where the wires pass through the rubber boot on the way into the driver's door. You can pull that boot back and check there for obvious breaks or fraying.

Good luck.

All functions work except the drivers side power door lock. It does not electronically lock or unlock. The passenger door lock works fine with the button on the armrest and on the fob. I need to get a plastic putty knife to pop off the panel the buttons are on to check if everything I'd plugged in. I'll update after I do that.

I'm gonna take it to the dealer tomorrow to verify whether or not they will fix it, whether it is something simple or the actuator needing replaced

An update incase anyone else looks at this.
My car came with a aftermarket warranty from the dealer, much to my surprise it is covered by the warranty. They confirmed it is the actuator, I'm in a new ram 1500 loaner for a few days while they order the part and replace it. The part price on the actuator was $450 from Infiniti , with labor and cost of the rental the whole bill came to about $1000. Heritage in westminster MD is actually a decent dealer it's all covered.

Thanks for the update, that's great news. A rare "good dealer" story! Enjoy that nice ride.

Here's a video on how to replace the door lock actuator yourself in case you're car is out of warranty. Infiniti and Nissan's are know for this. I had to replace one on my daughter's 2010 Nissan Altima coup a year ago. I now am having the same problem with my 2013 sedan.
