How well does the Alarm System work?

I didn't know where to put this. So Mods please move if you feel there's a better forum....

There's been items off cars stolen from around my Condo Complex before. A whole car, even all four rims off a Maxima that the thieves left sitting on wood 2x4s. Both peeps i knew and they lived in the condos right across from me.

Just to make sure my Fast Intentions mufflers are safe because i worry about them getting stolen due to being chrome and shiny and fella's around here (i've seen a group of youngsters staring at the back side of my G as i pull around the corner to leave the complex) love the bling, i've been backing into my parking spot. The cans just barely clear the curb and the ground/grass that leads up to it making stealing them a little more work. I hope if the attempt was ever to be made.

But when i crank it up at 4:30 a.m. or 6:30 a.m. to go to work i'm sure my neighbors beside me (retirees) aren't too thrilled with my loud exhaust note.

Which leads me to my question which may be tough to answer but maybe someone here has had some experience with this. I would hate to find out the hard way it doesn't....

If i pulled in nose first where the cans were exposed and the thieves attempted to unbolt from the axle back or hack saw right behind the mufflers, any idea if the attempt to steal them would be enough movement to make the alarm go off? Is it sensitive enough to notice any kind of movement, noise, etc... under the car?

Thanks for any help....

I believe you can install a tilt sensor alarm that would detect your car being lifted on a jack.

I'll have to look into that. I seen in another thread while searching "Alarm System" Infiniti has like a sensitivity alarm that can be installed. Ranges from 1-11, 11 being the highest. I'm going to look into possibly purchasing that and installing it myself if it isn't too complicated....

my guess is that if you have a shock sensor for your alarm, you would know. a loud motorcycle or car driving by will activate your alarm. it's also a rarely ordered extra option.

Without this sensor, the alarm would only trip on door/hood opening. =/

That's what i figured. I've been googling around for some other shock sensor type alarms to see what's out there before i hit up the local Infiniti dealership....
