I've looked for this all over the boards and haven't seen my issue specifically.
Passenger side works as expected. Turn dial, light illuminates, seat heats/cools well.
But, driver's side does not. I can turn the dial either direction (vent/heat) and the light illuminates on the dial for about 7-10 seconds. Then it turns off. No heat. No vent. It's a 2010 vert. No warranty. Any thoughts?
I could go without. But, in a black on black vert in Houston... well, I'd like to have the vent. Also, this week's low is 28°. Heated seat would be great.
Pretty sure it's only a seat heater and has no "vent" or cooling option. It's either "off" or "heat". You can read about the system in the file "SE.pdf" located here: Index of /FSM/G37/Convertible/2010
There is a sensor in the seat which cuts power once the seat has reached a predetermined temp based on which notch of the switch you've selected. It's possible one or more of the components in your drivers seat has failed (like that "sensor") but I'm not sure how you could test for that. Hopefully the manual will help you troubleshoot it.

Thanks. I'll have a read and see if it can be diagnosed with the manual. Seems it is likely an electrical issue as it cuts out on the vented side in the same amount of time. Shouldn't be a time out on the cooling system like there is on the heat.
Awesome! Thanks for ID-ing the pdf for seat operations. I'll have a check of the systems tomorrow.
This may be the key!

Were you ever to resolve the problem? I am experiencing the same issue. Drivers side turns off after four seconds..
Has anyone resolved this issue in their vert? Seems to be common but nobody has given any answers on any forums. Sorry to revive an old thread, but again, nobody has given an answer as to what the problem was.
My connector at the climate control unit the unit under the seat was burnt melted even
The connector was very hard to get apart it had melted together

Was the burned connector on the control unit under the driver or passenger seat? Did you happen to take any pictures of it? Having the same issue and want to check if mine has been burnt or melted
You can find the climate controlled seats control unit under the front of the seat there is some trim that has to be removed to get access This is the driver side there's one just like it under the passenger seat as well
