A/C button

So I bought my G 2 months ago, and when I hit the A/C button nothing lights up or turns on. But when I hit the auto **** the A/C turns on. Is this normal for the car to only turn air on when hitting the auto **** and nothing happens when pressing the A/C button directly?

I'm still under warranty and have a oil change on Tuesday and want to know if this is something I should bring up.

I have had that as well. I think something had to be on. The A/C button doesn't turn anything on it just switches from fan to A/C. At least that's what I remember. I will have to read that part of the manual again since the A/C or defrost is just about always on in my car.

Hmmm...I can't find anything specific in the manual except to possibly turn the fan speed up in order to start manual control of the A/C system. Once it's on, you can select A/C. I'll try this later on by turning the system off and seeing what gives me control again.
