NGK FXE24HR11 are the ones that fitment the 2010 G37x S. though and not the "22".

As I said earlier -they aren't supposed to be available yet according to NGK. Had them on the phone the other day for a few minutes. The dealers are allowed to gouge us awhile it appears.

^Amaizing how clean they are for that mileage. Looks like you could have ran them for another 100K. I just ordered Denso FXE24HR-11 plugs from PartsGeek.com,
$78.00 to the door. The FXE20HR-11 were listed in AutoPartsWirehouse as the correct plug for the car, but after checking the Denso website, I confirmed the FXE24's. APW may charge me a restocking fee, even though it's their fault that I have the wrong plug, I'll know for sure next week.

 

I agree. There have been many threads on many sites about this and most folks have come to the conclusion that Japanese cars need Japanese plugs. I wouldn't waste my time with anything other than NGK or Denso.

 

Installed Autolite iridium race plugs for less than $7.00 ea. and the need for the refresh, at least this, had my power and idle much stronger and less noisy. The NGK were just way too much from the Infiniti dealer. Denso are cheaper but Autolites being OE for GM and the price I couldn't pass it up. So Far I think it was a smart buy and I'll post if they need changing. I paid $44 vs $180.00. I will always pinch pennies when there's this much difference.

How much does a dealer usually charge on average to change the spark plugs ? I already got mine from advance auto parts.
Im closing in on 100k and want to do heavy maintenance on the car.

I checked and it seems the VQ35HR uses the same "Denso FXE22HR11 Iridium Long Life Spark Plugs"

 

I believe my dealer quoted me close to 300 the other day when I got my transmission fluid changed ^

also I will always use NGK on nissans nothing else

 

In January 2010 I had the dealer (NJ) replace my plugs in my 06 G35 at 106682 miles. This was the first major service other than oil and filter changes that I had the dealer perform on my G. The $867.00 included new plugs,a coolant flush, new belts, throttle body cleaning, and a tire rotation.

I noticed that you are in West Palm Beach, Florida.

I visited Schumacher Infiniti on Okeechobee Blvd in WPB in December to purchase two air filters for my G37S after driving down to Florida from New Jersey. They charged me $10.00 more than I paid at the Infiniti dealer in NJ. I forgot to put the air filters in the car before I left NJ. Their response when I showed them my NJ receipt for the same filters was that there was a price increase. I later found out that was total bull s#it. My local dealer here in NJ explained that each dealer can set their own markup on prices.

My advise is if you are going to purchase OEM plugs is to check prices with dealer parts and check with service on labor rates prior to bringing your Infiniti in.

If I ever move to Florida I think I would still purchase another Infiniti in New Jersey. I don't have a good feeling about Schumacher Infiniti. I complained to them and asked for Chuck Schumacher to call me as I saw him doing television commercials while I was in Florida telling viewers BS how great his dealership was.

To clarify things and keep anyone from making a mistake, the Denso iridium spark plug application for the VQ37VHR engine in the G37 is FXE24HR11. About $10 each at rockauto.com They are not particularly difficult to DIY. Takes less than 2 hours with average skill. Requires removal of the intake piping and throttle body on each side. Requires a 9/16 spark plug socket, a long extension, and a ratchet. The plugs are pre-gapped and all the ones I checked were dead on.

 

Sorry for revival but ngk DILKAR7B11 spark plugs are okay for our cars right? Is there much of a difference between the ngk and the oem denso?

 

I changed mine at 100k and I think I put NGK. I noticed that the car was a little smoother at idle after changing them.

 

Just for the record, you do not want to gap iridium plugs. They are pretty fragile. If you decide to anyway, do so with extreme care.

 

I didn't change my plugs on the G37 yet as I am only at 67,000 miles at this time.

However I did change them with Denso plugs on my daily driven 2003 G35 at approx 100,000 miles. The G35 is now at 260,000 miles and drives just fine. Uses approx the same amount of fuel, idles about the same. So that would be about 160,000 miles on those plugs.

Not planning to change them at this time as I have not noticed any difference on how the car drives etc.

 

Changed my plugs last month at 95K mile, the car runs a lot smoother and rev better. now i just gotta change that stupid fuel damper...
