Have you changed spark plugs yet?

Denso (3457) FXE24HR11 Iridium Long-Life Spark Plug

Are these pretty much the best thing for our G37's if we don't want to pay dealership NGK prices. Those add to about $68.00 and the NGK at the Infiniti dealer with the OE spark plugs (NGK iridiums) are 3 times as much at $190.00.

I let the nice service department know I would try and find an alternative and he said possible chance of misfire but probably now and he says, "I don't blame you."

Those Denso are some of the best but has anyone tried them or replaced the spark plugs?

Any service department that tells you your car may misfire if you don't use plugs you buy from them is despicable.

Unless you're close to, or over 100K, there's no need to change your spark plugs. If you do, NGK is the #1 choice with Denso a close second.

I have purchased FXE20HR-11 for my car through Auto Parts Warehouse. I have just recomfirmed that this is the correct PN for my 2008 G37S Coupe. I intend to install them this weekend.

He did say, "..but probably not.". They seem OK. I'm as careful as I can be.

I don't want to LOSE performance but if those Autolite XP finewire iridiums are going to work nice I'mm never look back. Can it hurt the car using meme-doodoo mainstream plugs?

GM uses Autolite don't they? Maybe Denso....

Noone has a high mile G37?

Maintenance is still due but mine runs nice. I did an ATF change in August BBetty. No issues. Do it at the Infiniti dealer. Thx for replies.

Well that makes my service department look stupid. They must have just been released because I couldn't find them anywhere. I was told, by numerous place, that they weren't available to the consumer just yet but very soon will be.

Autolites just sold out on me.....

Reliable website you've used before BTW? Auto Parts Warehouse --I'll have a look. Thanks

Oh those are Denso! DUH Mistaken that for NGK DILKAR8A11

Should I save cash and install them with a cheaper garage? Chrysler Dodge? I already checked and theyre cheaper. At least the service manager with Infiniti doesn't mind me bringing in my own Centric pads for brakes and other parts.

3x the cost for the plugs though? Yeah it would be unforgivable if they hadn't pointed out to me how expensive the plugs are and why. Quite a markup though.

This thread is probably dead now unless someone disagree's and thinks I should stay with the Infiniti shop for proper tune and plug install --please tell me. I appreciate this community.

I got all my 6 Denso OEM Spark plugs from Advance Auto for $49 including taxes. They're selling it for $11.99 retail and there was a coupon code for 35% off.

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...nso_20650315-p

Now there's a 30% off coupon now. Use coupon code TRT30. The price is $50.36 before taxes. You can pick up these items in store so you don't have to pay for shipping. It is the cheapest option I've found. You can find a local mechanic that would do it for you for cheap. I got mine done for less than $120 for labor since the intakes would have to be taken off.

I changed my spark plugs at just over 80k miles and have not seen a significant increase in MPG. The old plugs didn't look terrible either. It may be better to wait until after 100k miles. Since the service was so much cheaper than it would've cost at the dealer, I opted for the change.

I have 71k miles, and I'm changing mine this weekend (ngk dilkar7b11 iirc, bought for ~100 on fleabay,) since my mpg has been horrible - 16 average mixed hwy and local. Recent oil change, tranny fluid, clean k&ns, clean throttle bodies, so I cant imagine what else it could be (running too rich? Custom tune time? Maybe maf?)

I can take pics of the 71k mile plugs if anyone wants to see them?

You wont get any difference in performance by using one brand over another. But $68 isn't a lot of money to pay once (maybe twice) in the life of the car to have the peace of mind of using something that I know. For me at least. I'm sure the Autolite ones are just fine. But since you asked, I'm personally partial to NGK of Denso becasue I'm familiar with them.
