keyless entry help!

Hi, so the last couple of weeks my keyless entry does not work in the mornings when I go to leave for work. I have to press the unlock button on the fob several times for it to finally unlock. Today it got so bad that I actually had to take the key out and into the door to manually unlock it, as well as putting the fob inside it's slot to start the car. Tried the backup key fob (which I've really never used up to this point), and exactly the same results.

Weird thing is that during work to go out during lunch time and when I'm leaving work in the evening, the keyless system works just fine.

What could be causing this? I've been living in the same apartment for the last 2 years, so nothing has really changed.

sounds like a moisture issue. Going outside from a cold apartment into warm humid air can cause condensation buildup, possibly effecting the contacts in the fob. Also, do you leave your keys in the bathroom in the morning when you take a shower? Sounds crazy but just a thought. Had similar problems with a phone that was "water damaged". Turned out that it was due to condensation.

Also... check the battery.

seems like a battery issue. I've always found that warm batteries (being in your pocket all day) will give them just enough "extra" juice. but if you were to lock, and unlock a few times you would use up that "extra" juice then get same result as morning. I had the same issue awhile back. batteries fixed it. also started happening with the wifes fob @ same time.

Thank you both for the replies. My keys are never in the bathroom. Its weird how the 2nd fob started doing it the same time, then again I never used it up till now so its batteries could have been weak for a long time. I'll definitely replace the batteries on both and see what happens. Thanks again!

Update, it was the battery. Just replaced it and now works without issue in the morning.
