Viper Security Question

Hey Guys,

I was planning on getting the Viper - Security and Remote Start System . I was wondering if anyone has gotten this viper model installed on their G yet. Anyone have any idea if it voids the warranty if it is installed? Here is the link to the Unit:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1188561245745

or here

http://www.viper.com/Products/Produc...?ProductID=103

I was wondering how it would intergrate with the keyless entry the G already has. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

It shouldn't void the warranty unless Infiniti can prove it caused a problem. I had this unit on my 2005 G35 prior to the G37 and loved it.

I just got off the phone with a couple of dealerships. It sounds like as long as its done properly then the warranty is fine. One guy I talked to asked why I would want a security system, that its already equipped with the state of the art security. If i am correct, isnt the security system on the G not then good? Anybody know?

In terms of "vehicle immobilization", I think the system in the G is on par. It would be very hard, if not impossible, to walk up to a G and expect to steal it by hotwiring and expect to drive off. The most likely way would be for someone to pull it up on a "rollback" and haul it away.

As far as theft of belongings inside is where I think the system needs improvement. The G does not have any shock sensors or glass breakage sensor so essentially all someone needs to do is break the window and the can take off with anything within reach without triggering the alarm.

i got the compustar pro 2w9000fmr installed on my 06 G and kept the intellli key feature. For you guys with the g37 and push start, they can wire to where u can still keep the intelli key features and remote start. when you remote start, u just go in the car and go as long as the car "senses" the key.
