A/C Recharged But Still Doesnt Work

Long story short:
My friend was giving me a hand installing my CAI sometime ago. He went to relocate the horn and asked if it was okay if he put it on the AC line since all other places we would have to pull the wire plugs to be able to move it. I said that was fine since I didnt think the ac line would come apart.

it came apart.

freon everywhere.

So I havent had a/c but i didnt mind cause I always drive with the windows down and honestly never used it. Well I decided to fix it finally and had it recharged this morning. Problem is its still blowing hot. Apparently the shop tech said the computer isnt telling the AC compressor to turn on.

Any Advice?

(side note: I know it was a stupid decision and a short cut, so if we can keep the topic helpful and not a bunch of type emotes/comments i'd appreciate it. Not saying I don't deserve it, just not wanting to have to read through all of it to get something helpful )

Are you certain they recharged it correctly? Evacuated all the moisture before charging the refrigerant? If enough there's humidity in there the compressor may not kick on when it should.

"It came apart"?

Did your friend disconnect a pipe connection?

Was the o-ring replaced? Was the oil recharged according to the damage?

before he could fully unscrew it the pipe separated. After covering the pipe and waiting for all the freon to escape we closed it back up. ring and all still attached. Its closed up properly, no leaks or anything. Just no cold air

I would go with bad filter drier or clog. Just a note i have a universal CFC license and work on big ac units at my job in a server farm. Go back to the shop after purchasing a new filter drier. Explain what happend and get them to pull the freon back out into a holding tank and replace the filter then recharge with the same stuff they pulled out. Be sure to post what the problem was when you find out.
